i used to work at an airline where something similar used to happen whenever two people with the same name had the same routing. the computer thinks its a duplicate booking and would become "unsync'd". looking up the VCR would definitely indicate that the ticket was paid. the easy solution would be to print the segment and attach to the boarding pass. if you really know the SABRE system well enough, the correct solution was to "re-sync" the correct VCR to the correct PAX; however, it required "unchecking in" the PAX which usually unsat them. if you weren't fast enough...someone might take the seat, which would create big problems.

it usually happened whenever fathers and sons with the exact same first and last names travelled together.
