AFAIK only BA has 8-across rows of business class seats in 747 main cabins with only 4 of them aisle seats and 4 trapped.

The middle 2 of 4 in the centre block are dreadfully claustrophic and both mean climbing over another passenger. Only done that once. Never again.
Does it matter if it is 3 or 4 rows in the middle? Nope, either way you have to step over somebody left or right.
The new seats are wider at the shoulder end where it counts.
The only style seats also required you to climb over a person and from what I remember it was a lot harder when you had to climbe over the whole width of the seat vs the leg rest size and you had the seat in front reclining in your way. ( I base my recent experience on UA J and BA J from years back).
Finally VS, NZ, and AC all have the same design.
