Well, looks like this same flight will be the new lie flats. Which is great! I have not even seen them or touched them in real life yet. But, I somehow got bumped out of 15. I am not so sure how. There are 4 seats in 15 old config. There are 4 seats in 15 new config. So, nothing changed on 15; one might argue.
Now my only options for 2 together are backward facing or in the middle section of the lower deck. I am not crazy about flying backward b/c Mrs. 1K gets motion sickness issues.
I know....beggars can't be choosers and I am super-psyched to be on the new lie flats; but losing 15 hurts ever so slightly; especially since I have been talking a big game with Mrs. 1K who has never been in the upper deck before.
I called 1K int'l desk and had agent chat with the SD. They validated I had 15 G,H; and "weren't sure what happened" during the re-config. Obviously some algorithm ran but I find it odd that I got bumped.
Anyways, before I get flamed for being too greedy, I was wondering if anyone had any advice or recourse? I am not looking to fleece United of anything, just want to see what is fair, if anything.
Thanks for your constructive comments, FTers.
BTW; new 15 config is A, B and J, K. So that might be something to do with it.
are you flying ORD-HKG? just book trip in old C, chose 16AB for Ocotber trip because they appear to be good seats in both configs.
