Really? I had never even figured that the original booking class had to be available.
Oddly, I am looking at my first downgrade situation in March. Have Mrs. 1K booked on a saver ticket in Y. I am paid Y and confirmed into C using a CR-1 (3 class transcon). Good tip.
I was just going to do it pretty soon to make sure we got decent E+ seats together. I guess this policy makes sense, though...sort of. Thanks for sharing?
