I have received EQM for booking UA flights on Great Lakes (even though .bomb said 0 award miles). Flights were one-stops from DEN to ABR (and return) - received 500 miles each way. I believe you only get the miles with a UA flight number and the UA flight number is only available when you are connecting to or from a UA or UX flight.
