Don't think that is the reason because even flights leaving tomorrow are now taking 1 hour longer than 2 weeks ago. I checked both the Star Alliance time table as well as a booking website and the times do match.
As of now all flights SIN-SYD take 7h25 instead of 6h25 two weeks ago and if you look as far ahead as Jan 2009 they even added another 10 min to the flight time (I guess due to increased traffic). But I can't explain the additional hour for all flights.
For example SQ231 still leaves SIN at 0.30 am but it now arrives in Sydney at 11.05 am whereas previously it arrived at 10.05am.
So, what's going on here?
