i have exactly one card, and mastercard works very well for me.

in addition to bonus miles for signing up, i received 41,500 promotion-specific miles using mastercard that i would not have received using amex (as opposed to the 22,500 i would have earned on the conversion from spg to aa).

total miles this year was probably 150,000 (on $90k), so it was MUCH higher than SPG in this instance.

going forward, spending won't be so high so my motivation to change won't be high either.
