Reading through some of the past threads on the subject . . .

Perhaps it is completely dependent on each customer's historical spending, but it seems that Citi goes through periods where they are willing to waive AA annual fees and other periods where they won't negotiate.

Since I will be facing this same decision in the next month, has anyone recently gotten Citi to waive the annual fee (or received an equivalent number of complimentary miles), and if so (just as a point of reference), what was your past year's annual spend on the card?
