Personality quirk, I suppose. I choose properties for their specific location and amenities. I won't settle for one in the same quality "bucket". I know you can game priceline sometimes to get a specific property, but it isn;t worth the perceived aggravation to me.

Same thing with car rentals. I like Hertz #1 Gold and that is worth something to me. I, also, had a coujple of poor experiences with Alamo, so I don;t want to deal with them again.
