On VanNess, there's a Swiss fondue restaurant called Matterhorn. I've been once and it can be kinda cozy. It's decorated very Swiss and you'd think you might be in someone's house in Switzerland with all the wood carvings, etc. http://matterhorn.ypguides.net/

If you want to take it up a notch, there is a Melting Pot fondue resto up in Larkspur. You can take the ferry up there and walk over to the resto. While Melting Pot is a chain, I actally prefer it over Matterhorn.

Also, with regards to AQUA, I went there for a work dinner and I don't touch seafood. I found them to be very unaccommodating to me and quite frankly, the waiter was rude to me.
