The argument/excuse given and believed by many was that UA would no longer be willing to fork up the boni for those HON circle miles (nb the same UA which was no issues giving a 100% bonus to a measly Premier Executive).

Now HONs don't earn more on UA than do lowly SENs. If UA segments will still not be accounted for towards HON Circle miles, this - in weero's not so humble opinion - is crytal clear proof that LH's propaganda folks have lied to their customers to begin with.

Let's hear all the defenders' voices! That there are too many HONs, that LH has no incentive to award people with status who fly other airlines etc. etc. etc. Please do not forget to include an argument why then the bonus did exist and what the justification - not the reasoning - behind not granting it anymore is !
Nice arguments, and it may surprise you, but I'm not a defender (anymore).

If the shared revenue approach is really true, then I don't see, why at least the TATL flights on UA metal should not count. Beeing myself a frequent traveller to SFO it really upsets me, that only 33% of the daily flights FRA-SFO count as HON miles. It is understandable, that LH allowed UA to operate the 3rd daily flight on that route on the one side, but on the other side it pisses up all frequent HONs on that route (and there are many) by having still the ages old schedule option only.
