I just did this and it was great. I had to have a paper ticket issued in person though and ship it to the traveler. No e-tickets.

Also, does anyone know if changes to dates are permitted after issue like UA award tickets? I've been meaning to call and ask, but flyertalkers usually know better than the agents, anyway!
