Not sure this is quite right. If you're 1P or higher, you can access the RCC in LAX no matter what class you're flying in, as long as it's a connecting flight to an int'l itinerary. Have done it many times.
Right, but he was talking about admittance based on the class of service and not status. For Star Gold you're correct, it wouldn't matter.
