I have accumulated hundreds of thousands of AmEx Starwood points through the years from hotel stays (before retiring) and using my Starwood credit card BUT am having difficulty converting them to frequent flyer miles due to the lengthy time it takes to deposit into frequent flyer accounts. I have had much better luck recently converting AmEx Rewards points into f.f. points. ( Most recently I was told it would take 6 weeks to deposit Starwood points into Cathay Pacific f.f. account where with Rewards it is almost instantaneous). I don't use Starwood points for hotel stays, only f.f. miles.

I would like to find a way to transfer 100% of my Starwood points into the Rewards account if this is possible and cancel AmEx Starwood c.c. all together. What is the most advantageous way to do this to get the best conversion?? Thanks for your help.
