I just read in another thread that there was a ICG hotel in Taipei again so I went to the website to check it out and the poster was correct. There is a HI in East Taipei. I used to stay at the CP in Taipei until they lost their affiliation and now stay at the Grand Hyatt. The new HI is not very conveniently located for me and GH is a huge improvement over the old CP Rebar (and we have a great rate) so I am unlikely to switch to the HI but it is good to know.

When did the HI Taipei open? Is it a new property or a conversion? Has anyone stayed there? What is it like and what else is in the neighborhood?
