Looks like are you booked on UA code and AC metal. You should be able to get a voucher if the same flights can be booked at lower fare on UA code. The problem is sometime it can only be booked at lower fare on AC code, than you are out of luck. The UA and AC codes are considered as different flights, even though they are physically the same aircraft.
