BA Service Going Down In General

Over the last couple of years I found BA to get worse and I travel world wide with them from the U.K.
Past 2 years have started to use other carriers such as Virgin, Emirates etc too which seemed better.
BA staff seem inconsistent on various occasions such as telling me I am not able to join the business queue when boarding one time as I had a economy ticket even though I had gold card. I complained out of interest and either silver / gold card holders can do this.
I have also found that the in flight entertainment to be poor with the films, music and IFE equipment actually working. Last year I had several flights where the IFE was broken and I had to fill out forms for compensations and those flights were in excess of 9 hours.
Even though airlines such as Virgin do not fly everywhere and perhaps the airlines points program may not be great. When traveling upper, you are collected from your home, taken to Terminal 3 Heathrow and the lounge is amazing compared to BA with what they offer and the fares are often cheaper then BA.
