Regarding your return flights, I would seriously reconsider your 41 minute connection in LAX. I don't even think that's legal (it's probably 45 minutes and that's tight). I know that there are not a lot of flights BOS-LAX on UA nowadays, and the (earlier) 11:30 AM departure is probably a no-op for you, but I'd think about some alternatives (re-routing via another city, which is risky or staying over in BOS, LAX or somewhere in between and taking the flight to AKL one day later.
