If you normally credit to DL when you fly SKyTeam, opt for the voucher. That will allow you to get a miles-earning revenue ticket that can credit to DL.

Carefully evaluate the circumstances before you demand cash. Under some circumstances (operational requirements of smaller aircraft, arrival within a certain time of originally scheduled arrival), the cash payout required by federal regs might be zero, whereas airlines might still offer decent vouchers as a matter of good will. Even if a payout appears to be required, it could be well less than $300.
