Is Amex Platinum worth the £300 ?

Well, 3 weeks into membership and already the answer is a resounding 'yes'.
- Saved our annual travel insurance for the two of us - £120 renewal quote
- Allowed us to decline the car hire insurance - $400US saving on a five day USA trip
- Discounted hotel stay through FHR - 4 rounds of golf at Gleneagles for £46 each inc. cart hire - saving £170.
Just quoting for FHR stay at LAS in Sept - seems to be 10% off plus free breakfast & $100 spa voucher - for 4 nights that will be another $500 saving.
