Here’s a brief, unusual trip report: booked AF ATH-MAN with a 50 min. layover. The flight leaves ATH with a ~40 min. delay; I was already told at check-in that they had already booked me in addition on the next CDG-MAN flight. Well, we arrive in Paris with “only” 20 min. delay, plus 5 min. (!) to get the bridge docked to us (2D). Still, being optimistic in nature, I start running like crazy to 2F, find the “hidden” immigration and security check completely empty, get through to the gate exactly 5 min. before the actual departure time, last person to board the bus. By the time I’ve stopped taking deep breaths and coughing and not realizing where we are, we arrive at a plane. I board, sit down, and listen to the captain announcing “Apologies for the delay, which was due to the delayed arrival of this plane from Athens”. I know, I know, but still I wished this were the 60’s…
