AS could be an interestin acquisition. US... I dunno. I have a hard time seeing anyone wanting to merge with them, honestly. I'd expect US/HP to continue trying to be a borderline LCC, competing with WN/TZ.
I agree with your take on US, but i don't think international merger is all that likely, like you said AA is pretty strong by itself so it might be able to hold out for a little longer before it trys to search for a merger partner.
I'm not sure what would happen when there's only one us airline in each of the alliances.
