To position ourselves for a great premium fare on MH to CMB, Etihad's deal ex-BNE was better-priced than everything other than Tiger ex-MEL, and the difference was small. Forget Tiger and JetStar, I'll avoid the orange LCCs and get a Qantas Red e-Deal! Better than (Virgin) Blue, too, in price and offering.

No strike!
Qantas was firing on all cylinders for our morning Domestic flight to BNE as the threatened maintenance strike was postponed for now.

On time!
We pushed off a little early, a nice change from LCCs and had a troublefree transit from DOM to INTL via the BNE shuttle train.

The QC attendant at checkin confirmed this. Fortunately I'd OLCI'd so we could avoid queues at SYD. We took only hand luggage, so no checkin worries and my big rollaboard wasn't queried.

Amex internet at SYD Dom terminalI wish I'd taken up the recent Amex offer with 17.5k miles as there was free internet terminal access at the SYD gate for Amex cardholders.

Juice, coffee, packaged mini muffins and apples were served during the flight.
