I really wouldnt worry if your bag is well within the size restrictions noone will give it a second thought. They only draw attention to and possibly weigh very large looking bags which passengers are intending to carry on.

In relation to checked in bags, EI will tag the bag ORD/SEA, but US customs require you to pick it up at your first point of entry into the US (ORD). Then its simply a matter of clearing customs, and dropping it off again at the bag drop desk for AA.


I know some people here have given the impression that EI has become a terrible airline, but i really must defend them somewhat. I travel to the US almost once a month, and i rarely encounter any problems. The staff have always been friendly, and i find that if your friendly to them it helps.

Bottom line, the people you are calling to ask these questions probably arent intending to be rude, they just dont know the answers alot of the time.

You will be fine with the hand baggae... If you get any hassle i will personally take responsibility
