Weirder and weirder...

Called back and was told b/c miles were entered manually, they would not post automatically as status miles but that there was a notation in there so that they would get counted when I'm 2,500 or fewer miles short of the next level. This is after being told a couple of hours earlier that no 1Ps would get status miles for this, only 1Ks. How in the world they'd get counted as status when there only a notation in there I don't know. I'm skeptical there's even a notation in there. But I'm about ready to give up on this.
