To put I remember reading a story in the WSJ about how unreliable Tripadvisor can be. I like the picture part of it and rely on that aspect most. If there is an opinion posted on that site that strikes you, you can look click on that member's name and it will show you other reviews from that member, which should help. The article also pointed out that different nationalities have different expectations, and that people form NYC are almost always negative. These are just a few things that come to mind. Overall, I agree with the comments posted above.
Also, generally only the most positive and really the most negative comments get posted on Tripadvisor. If someone had a good stay and is overall happy, but is not terribly moves, then they generally don't post, as they do not have the community and discussions that this sight has.
That being said, I have never been to that property, but would vouch for the FS Punta Mita
