Since I live in Y, I bought my own pair. Since I live on a Y budget, I bought my own cheap pair.

I'm happy with the Noisebuster Extreme headset. I've found it to be effective on planes, and reasonably comfortable on long flights (e.g. LAX-CDG/LHR). I've never tried a Bose set, but these are so much cheaper that I can't imagine paying for one.

Two of my friends who travel frequently also purchased Noisebuster Extremes after trying mine, and are happy with them.

The best price I've found is $34 at http://www.avshop.com/560208001.html . It's a pilot store, but of course these are purely for passenger use!
