One snag I forsee if the LAX-JFK flight arriving late ... having to go from term 7 (I think it's 7) over to terminal 1 and checking in on time for AF007 ... you said you have 1.5 hours layover in JFK ??

AF flights close one hour before departure so you would need to be checked in by then.

AA will be able to send your bag but not be able to check you in.

Your chances are reduced because you're arriving on a non-skyteam carrier and won't be through checked.

Something to take into consideration.
