Twelve killed, over one hundred injured by double blasts in Sri Lanka capital
Feb 03, Colombo: At least twelve people were killed [latest death toll is 14] and over 100 others were wounded when a female suicide bomber exploded herself inside the Fort Railway Station this afternoon. The deadly blast came hours after a small bomb explosion at the Dehiwala Zoological Gardens, police said.

Feb 02, Colombo: Sri Lanka military said the police found two suicide kits and several other war materials this morning at Mabole in Wattala, a suburb to the northwest of capital Colombo.
“On a tip off from a phone call, Police recovered the following war materials near a fish stall; two suicide Jackets, six timers, one remote control, eight batteries, eight detonators and nine kilograms of explosives.”
also 2 more civilian bus bombings in Dambulla on 2/2 and Welioya on 2/4.

All schools were closed within the Colombo city for one week due to security reasons.
As a security precaution, all text messages on mobile phones were suspended on Monday morning until the main independence day celebrations were over at midday.
More than 100 civilians have been killed since the government withdrew from a truce on January 16. Tamil separatist rebels have stepped up attacks on civilian targets outside the ethnic minority’s population base in northern and eastern Sri Lanka.
