That can be applied to the traveller as well as the carrier.
It is winter, folks. Extreme weather will take a toll on travel. The airlines cannot control the weather.
I expect that, for a price, Airbus could build a jet that would function in -60C. However, there are not a lot of airports and days that experience such conditions. I wonder how much more it would cost to build, and operate? Would we be able to afford tickets?
