Would you fly 20 hours with a 13 month old?
We are planning a trip for November or December of this year with our son who will be 13 months old at the time. This will be our first long vacation and so wanted some advice around a few issues from others who have experienced travelling with children.
1) We are thinking about waiting to take the trip until our son is 3 or 4 years old and might enjoy the trip more. At the same time, would it be easier to travel with a 13 month old than a 3-4 year old?
2) We live on the East Coast of the US. We have previously been to Southeast Asia, but want to know what is really like to travel for 20-24 hours to Southeast Asia or Australia with a young child? Did you have a pleasant flights or would we be better off going to someplace closer like Florida or Aruba.
3) Another option would be to visit friends in Europe. I have heard some horror stories from friends about their children not being able to sleep on the transatlantic flight. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. I also have some questions on car seats, but should be able to answer them with the existing threads.
