2 Questions...
I'm doing an MR to MUC to take advantage of double miles, but I'm taking 2 nights in the city and a night in ATL on the return. So I'm going to mattress hop the 3 nights. Was looking into staying at the TRYP (Sol Melia) in Munich and ran across something interesting... After I registered for the MAS loyalty program associated with Sol Melia, it said I had 1500 points in my account (I'm assuming a sign-up bonus). When I looked into how to earn Skymiles it said that points could be transferred 3:1 and did not list a minimum. It just listed a phone # and/or e-mail addy to request the transfer. I e-mailed and I will post any results. If this transfer works I presume it would count towards the promotion for the Sol Melia program and allow me to book another hotel also in the promotion. If it works it's another freebie :-)
Question 1: Anyone have experience with this program and care to comment if my little scheme will work or should I go ahead and book the TRYP just in case?
Question 2: Accor Hotels. Does one have to register for their Loyalty program (at 130EUR) to earn miles or can I just give my skymiles number at check-in?
