I flew CVG-ORD-PDX (flights 1129 and 321) yesterday and experienced mechanical delays on both flights, both A319s...2 hour delay on the first flight and just over an hour on the second. Fortunately I had planned a longer than usual layover so I could show my hubby the places of interest that he hears about from my twice weekly experiences at ORD.

I could write a short book on the difference that a smiling face, positive attitude and frequent updates made between the two delays (^ to the outstanding GA at CVG for patience and good humor in the face of some very stressed out passengers), but really it is the constant mechanical-related delays on the 319s that bothers me. I can't find a thread that discusses the maintenance schedules for the planes and looks at why these mech issues seem to be so common without finding too much whining and OT complaining to be useful. Does anyone have a link that would clue me in to how/when these planes get maintenance and what the typical incidence of mechanical issues/delays is?
