I think the biggest issue for me is that I would no longer be able to go to a kiosk, zip my passport and go.

UPDATED: Got email from DL that says "Passengers, including nonrevs, who check in at a kiosk and have no checked baggage should check in and proceed through security as usual. They will get their red carry-on bag tag at the gate."
