I wonder if whatever force instigated the Shannon stopover rule would also obligate BA to replace the SNN-LHR service that was so bitterly contested, if they are going to be using the airfield for a highly profitable service, which will have little economic benefit for the local area.
The SNN stopover rule, which was in the US-IRL air service agreement, is being phased and will have completely disappeared at the end of this season. Can't see how anybody could lawfully force BA to run an SNN-LHR service under current EU legislation.
