I gave up on getting BA miles and tier points after than cancelled my ORD-LHR flight, seemed there were just too many hoops to jump through (despite them promising I'd get both automatically when they rebooked me onto VS) and when ba.com started asking me to fax them flight numbers I couldn't be bothered. Also the compensation form on BA.com gave me an automated "computer says no" response so gave up on that too.
However, the upside was I claimed the miles on Virgin on their site and also as I was flying with my Girlfriend signed her up too and got referall bonus miles on VS Flyer club for both of us. For my money I actually preferred the whole VS UC experience - on the plane it was pretty equal with Club World (BA had better food, AVOD and slightly edged the service - VS had better cabin ambience courtesy of some funky lighting, a better seat and the bar). However the revivals lounge at T3 complete with a limo home was incredible...
