IIRC,the 777 YVR/YYZ flight is a 10:30 am departure.

I was on a standby list for this flight a few weeks ago where I was a confirmed u/g on a later flight.I did get a confirmed seat on 777.I asked GA and he said he was in process of clearing the waitlist(while boarding was going on) and asked me to take a seat.No sooner had he said that ,he then called me back saying that he had called for 2 other passengers who had not responded.I was there,they were not.

I would have asked to be confirmed J on the next(a few hours at most) flight to YYZ,provided you had the time.

I have never,technically,been downgraded.I gave up my confirmed J seat to Mrs.acysb87 and took her seat in Y. .
