100% Status Miles on Amex Aeroplan Platinum Privilege J Pass?
I was just browsing AC flight pass options and noticed that the new pass booking site indicates that the Amex J pass now only earns 100% status miles, even though it books in J. Previously, this was always listed as 150%.
I assume this is a downgrade in the product, rather than simply a web error. There is no mention as to whether there are any booking limitations (e.g. J>2). This is supposed to be a pure J product, and at $900 each direction one would hope that AC would treat it with the same respect as a normal J ticket.
In the past, the pass has been too rich for my blood, although with the change in COS on the Latitude passes I was considering the possibility of picking one up for long-haul NA routes. I certainly won't be doing that now if AC is treating it as second class J product.
Edit: I now believe I jumped the gun and this issue is actually a website mistake. The fine print under the pass still lists 150% status miles, including on the confirmation page that pops up just prior to purchase (which is the text that matters). The incorrect 100% information I based this thread on appears in a pop-up window that compares the Amex passes (Tango and Executive). Moderators, please feel free to lock this thread.
