Re: Rockwell Collins Fly Along Reps
We are aware that many of our reconfigured 777 aircraft are experiencing issues with the new Rockwell Collins IFE system. There are several things we are doing in the interim that we wanted to make you aware of:
1. We are working daily with the Rockwell Collins team to try and resolve the hardware and software issues that are occurring onboard.
2. Based on feedback that the Pursers are providing, we are proactively reaching out to our customers that had an unacceptable experience with our IFE sytem.
3. We are working on a plan to provide our Premium customers with an alternative IFE option in the event the IFE system malfunctions, which you will be hearing about as soon as plans are finalized.
Rockwell has committed to providing fly along reps on as many of our reconfigured 777 international flights as possible. Their function onboard is not to run the system; the reps are there to assist the crew in the event any issues arise. They are to observe the operation, help troubleshoot, provide feedback of what is occurring ibflight with the crews, and rectify issues onboard, if possible. Not all issues will be able to be fixed onboard. We appreciate you cooperation and patience with the Rockwell reps.
We are very much aware of the frustration both you and our customers are experiencing with this new system. Your feedback is extremely important in providing Rockwell Collins with the information they need to rectify these issues
I notice that one of the action items on the memo Sluggo posted mentioned some alternative IFE for premium pax while they work on the new exisiting system. Has anyone seen evidence that those have been implemented yet?
