After months of negotiation and not a little delay, my relocation to our Tokyo office was finally approved on Wednesday.

Looking after my move, I now have: an international mobility specialist in London, an HR person in Tokyo, a visa consultant, a relocation consultant (in Hong Kong of all places) and a tax accountant.

This is amusing as three days ago, when nothing was certain, no-one was doing anything for me (well apart from the visa consultant), and I ended up hiring two Polish guys with a van to move my stuff into storage.

Anyway, please excuse this rather self-indulgent ramble. I hope to see some of the Tokyo regulars around - perhaps we should have a Tokyo DO!
