They did not even go as far as checking regular inventory, so I do not know whether it was available. As I am quite flexible in timing and routing, I would assume there may be some. I was looking for routing from YVR to either LHR or to FRA, outbound on any day Feb 7/8/9/10 and return any day Feb 15/16/17/18. Long-haul in business, and preferrably only one connection/stop.
The rule is only on IKK (opening up space); however, getting a business class awards seat even with that flexibility would be pretty challenging w/o IKK. You might do better with a *A reward as I think they are more likely to open inventory closer to departure date than A.
