I've been on FT too long, as I knew (and I'm sure many regulars here did as well) that, that specific thread was going to be referenced.

Lets not high jack this thread with discussion of that situation. Anyone booking an error rate and expecting it to be honored when the hotel calls you well before the actual stay and informes you that they are not going to honor it and gives you alternative is not the same as the OPs situation.
