They did not even go as far as checking regular inventory, so I do not know whether it was available. As I am quite flexible in timing and routing, I would assume there may be some. I was looking for routing from YVR to either LHR or to FRA, outbound on any day Feb 7/8/9/10 and return any day Feb 15/16/17/18. Long-haul in business, and preferrably only one connection/stop.
I was speaking to the SE desk, and I surely asked for the manager, with the same results.
And I was told that the reason for the new rule (if that rule really applies this way) was that Super Elites have been abusing the system ... which makes me wonder - how could paying miles to Aeroplan be called abuse?
