Buying parallel ticket for toddler (different final destination)

Hi Guys!

I have questions concerning buying separate ticket for toddler (different final detstination) and your expert advices are most appreciated.

I need to go to India next month. Unfortunately, my wife also needs to go to a business trip at the same time and this has become a logistic problem for our toddler. As a consequence, I am thinking of stopping at Japan and dropping my toddler with grand parents for a week before heading to India (we live in the US).

I can not seem to get resonable ticket ex-NRT for DEL for the date I need to travel and this will force me to continue my journey to BKK or SIN before taking another flight(s) to DEL.

Now, the questions:

Q1) I need to continue to BKK/SIN but my daughter only needs ticket to and from Tokyo. Could I just buy tickets with different final destinations? I am asking this as I heard that children below 10 must be under the same reservation as adult (I might be completely wrong on this).

Q2) If above is possible, could I buy separate tickets for me and my toddler through UA website (I have 10%off code)? Or do I need to go through UA reservation agent (as my daughter may need to be listed under my PNR)?

Q3) If Q2 is possible, I assume that these tickets will have 2 separate PNRs, could I still cross-reference them so that I could sit next to my daughter?

Thank you so much for your kind information.
