So I had to change my UAMP award ticket (biz class) to depart from ARN instead of OSL in July. I was prepared to pay the $100 change fee. But why oh why would one UA representative tell me there was no availability on any *A airline from ARN-LAX on my travel date, when there actually was? My friend (who wanted me to fly on his flights a week earlier from ARN) called only minutes later and got a different rep who found flights on LH, ARN-FRA-LAX, an even better connection than my original OSL-LHR-ORD-LAX!!?? It just doesn't make sense. I guess some people just are not willing to do a little work. I was not rude with the girl either, she just simply said several times, there is nothing available from ARN-LAX that day. Not only was my friend able to get my sked changed, but he changed his from ARN-LHR-ORD-LAX to the more favorable LH ARN-FRA-LAX (for $100 bucks). Darn, we won't be able to try UA's new biz class seats! LOL! Chances were slime to none we'd have gotten the new seats any way! I'm glad I have a pushy friend who loves to do these sorts of things. I was prepared to just keep calling back and checking for availability. In the end, I was very happy that I was even able to change, but still very perplexed at this whole scenario. Happen to anyone else?
