Plenty of time really. If you've never been to KL, its a 50 min cheap hop with flights every 30 mins and good links to the city for a reasonable day out - check out the Petronas Towers
Of course you can also take a train or taxi to JB (Johor Bahru) which is just across the border and have a slightly more authentic Malaysian experience
In particular the contrast with SIN is baffling.
