Bottom line is I've added AA to my list of preferred airlines because of this perk and have spent $$ there that would have normally gone to SkyTeam. (What this means is the AC members b!tching and moaning about us can smooch my patootie.)
I second that. Although there may be some resentment by paid Admirals Club Members towards AX Plats and Cents, as well as sometimes by the Admirals Club check-in staff, the fact of the matter is that many of us preferentially chose AA now because of this benefit.
I fly the BOS-LAX nonstop route at least once a month, a route that I previously booked either on United, Delta, or JetBlue (to LGB) depending on who had the best fare at the time or purchase. I know AmEx pays AA a bit every time we use the lounge, but I'm sure AA sees an increase in revenue because of the lounge agreement.
As to the original poster:
>>I would like some first hand information on how this $450 Perk work?
1. Go into the lounge.
2. Show ID, AmEx, boarding pass. Agent scans AmEx to see if it's valid.
3. Voilą...access granted.
>>Do you have to show the ticket all the time?
Yes.
>>Can you just present you're amex card and Wolaa?
No
>>Can you use the partner lounges? Like NWA/KLM longes?
You can use NWA. You cannot use KLM.
>>Is this really a good perk or not?
Yes it is really a good perk, and is one of the reasons why I keep my membership.
