I had an interesting side bar to this earlier this week, as mentioned elsewhere.
Was booked DFW-LAX-SYD. All upgraded.
Wanted to fly DFW-ORD-LAX-SYD.
There were NF seats on the DFW-ORD-LAX legs.
The LAX-SYD flight or time or seating was
not changing.
Phoned 1K line at 9am to make these
same day changes.
Response - "Cost will be $100 a ticket".
Reason -
"Because this is an INTERNATIONAL ticket."
I pointed out the change affected simply a US internal sector,
not the LAX-SYD and agent point blank refused, and noisily noted record that the fee must apply. I will email 1K desk on this as it appears wrong or 'hair splitting' at least information.
Thoughts?
