OMG, all this discussion on "is it worth spending $270 to get 20k in AA miles". This is so simple it is stupid. Simply apply for AA Citi card and spend $250 ON ANYTHING, books perhaps. Then take the $20 you still saved and go have dinner. You now have $250 in books, 20k in AA miles and a full belly. cancel the card and move on...
