When it comes to trampling on people's rights, especially when they are women, even better of they are brown or black, our British brothers are not far behind.

Indian and other women of colour arriving in the U.K. to marry their non-white fiance were subjected to mandatory virginity tests, carried out by male physicians at the port of entry.

Only women from Asia, Africa or Caribean were subjected to this test. In their gesture of infinite 'kindness', Her Majesty's Government thought it must ensure that the women had their virginity intact, but only if they were going to marry an Asian a Black or a West Indian. Poor white women had to do without this welcome at the Heathrow and the white men got no help from the Government in ensuring their wife to be was a virgin.
